Who are we?

 

Budaquest is a small media and information company. We are specialized in trustworthy, affordable information on Hungary, presented in clear and readable language. We deliver our information in Dutch and English, but if necessary also in Hungarian.

Budaquest was established by two Dutch journalists who have been living and working in Hungary for more then ten years. We work for media, as well as small companies, NGO’s and local governments and are specialized in searching and finding information for small and medium size clients

Unsaved Project

 

*      General journalism. We write news stories, features, reports and interviews about Hungary and the surrounding countries

 

 

*      Corporate journalism. We produce sponsored magazines for companies, as well as texts for annual reports and other publications like brochures and columns.

 

 

*      Economic information. For small and medium entreprises we collect company information and do market analyses. We help finding possible business partners and background information on local authorities and the local corporate culture

 

 

*      General information. For NGO’s and local governments we make political, social or economical reports. Then could for instance be an specific problem like the situation in the local housing situation, but also background information on a certain village, town or organisation or the employment situation in a certain region

 

 


 

Runa Hellinga (1958) has been working in the Netherlands as social economical journalist. During those years, she wrote about housing, environment and health care. She has experience as a correspondent for the Netherlands Press Association, the Dutch daily newspaper Trouw and several branch magazines like the Dutch agricultural newspaper Agrarisch Dagblad as well as a technical weekly and an IT weekly. She came to Hungary in 1989.

Henk Hirs (1954) used to work for the local dutch radio station Radio Rijmond. He was specialized in economic subjects in general and especially the Rotterdam Harbour. As a correspondent in Central Europe, he has been working for the Dutch financial daily het Financieele Dagblad, the Belgian financial daily De Tijd,  Dutch NOS Radio 1 en Radio Netherlands International. He came to Hungary in 1989.
